11 months!

One more month until we officially have a 1 year old… man that year flew by! I feel like I was pregnant just yesterday.

Now for my BIG ANNOUNCEMENT… I am going to be a STAY AT HOME MOM (SAHM) starting September 15th! I am so excited to get to spend every day with Owen and have more time for other home projects. I have just been feeling so stretched thin and really, I never saw myself being a working mom. Now I can give 100% to being Owen's mom and that makes me happy.

We are enjoying the last days of summer. Definitely looking forward to some cooler weather so we can be outside more. Tonight Rich and I are watching football on the screened in porch with the doors to the house open. It's so nice :)

 Owen's Milestones (11 months)
- You are learning so much these days. You now will clap when someone else claps.
- You started crawling over to me and grabbing me to pick you up or if I am sitting down you crawl into my lap. I love it!
- You get very mad when we don't let you do what you want to do. You love to try to get into the laundry room and push the buttons on the washer and dryer and to go into the guest bathroom and play with the toilet paper and when we deny you those opportunities by closing the door, you throw a little tantrum.
- You can take a couple of steps with your walker and you are really comfortable pulling up on things and walking while holding on. However, I don't think you will be walking until after you are 1.
- You can climb all the way up the stairs and can go down 2 stairs. We installed the baby gates after we discovered those things.
- We tried Kraft Mac and Cheese, chicken nuggets and tator tots this month… you loved them all.
- You are wearing 18 months now!

I tried to take a few photos of Owen in his baptism outfit before he outgrows it.

Enjoying one last dip in the pool before it closes for the season.

Owen's name for his 1 year old photos and for a party decoration for his bday party next month. Conveniently, 3 of the same letters also spell "ONE." I may or may not have realized that in the wooden letter aisle of Hobby Lobby :)

The Big 10 (Months)

I can't believe Owen will be a year old in just 2 short months! I've already started planning the 1st birthday party. The theme is going to be…. The Hungry Caterpillar! I've already started working on some projects for it and I think it's going to be very colorful and cute!

We had Owen's baptism this weekend as well. He was perfect. He let the minister hold him, was very alert, and didn't cry even when the water was splashed on his head. After the baptism we had a luncheon at our house and he was awake and happy the whole time. We had to take him on a walk after the party to get him to finally take a nap (he hadn't really slept all day and it was 3 by the time everyone left). Owen never wants to miss anything… he is a party animal. It really is funny to see his personality develop. We didn't get to take very many pictures on Sunday. The church took some of us that they are going to send and I plan on putting Owen back in his outfit later this week and taking some photos. I will post those photos later.

Okay, sorry this post is kind of short but I have a feeling next month's will be better…. stay tuned ;)

Owen's 10 Month Milestones:

- You have 7 teeth now!!! Last month you only had 2 on the bottom... now you have 3 on the bottom and 4 on the top. All that teething and you still slept through the night most nights!
- Your 1st official word...... UH-OH. I consider it your first word because it's the first word you've used consistently in the right context.
- You are crawling all over the place and pulling up on furniture. You love to stand at the coffee table ottoman and trying to open and close drawers and cabinets.
- You have to be held facing out... which is getting hard now that you are getting so big. When we try to hold you any other way you push your way into the position you want to be in.
- You can clap all by yourself.
- You were baptized!
- You are starting to have an interest in books... which is good since you have an entire library of them. I think you have more books than mommy and daddy combined!
- You love exploring and have no fear.
- You love Curious George and Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse.

Aaron B. came to visit this month. Owen had fun sharing his toys with him.

Owen also enjoyed sharing his wagon to ride to the neighborhood pool.
