The Big 10 (Months)

I can't believe Owen will be a year old in just 2 short months! I've already started planning the 1st birthday party. The theme is going to be…. The Hungry Caterpillar! I've already started working on some projects for it and I think it's going to be very colorful and cute!

We had Owen's baptism this weekend as well. He was perfect. He let the minister hold him, was very alert, and didn't cry even when the water was splashed on his head. After the baptism we had a luncheon at our house and he was awake and happy the whole time. We had to take him on a walk after the party to get him to finally take a nap (he hadn't really slept all day and it was 3 by the time everyone left). Owen never wants to miss anything… he is a party animal. It really is funny to see his personality develop. We didn't get to take very many pictures on Sunday. The church took some of us that they are going to send and I plan on putting Owen back in his outfit later this week and taking some photos. I will post those photos later.

Okay, sorry this post is kind of short but I have a feeling next month's will be better…. stay tuned ;)

Owen's 10 Month Milestones:

- You have 7 teeth now!!! Last month you only had 2 on the bottom... now you have 3 on the bottom and 4 on the top. All that teething and you still slept through the night most nights!
- Your 1st official word...... UH-OH. I consider it your first word because it's the first word you've used consistently in the right context.
- You are crawling all over the place and pulling up on furniture. You love to stand at the coffee table ottoman and trying to open and close drawers and cabinets.
- You have to be held facing out... which is getting hard now that you are getting so big. When we try to hold you any other way you push your way into the position you want to be in.
- You can clap all by yourself.
- You were baptized!
- You are starting to have an interest in books... which is good since you have an entire library of them. I think you have more books than mommy and daddy combined!
- You love exploring and have no fear.
- You love Curious George and Mickey Mouse's Clubhouse.

Aaron B. came to visit this month. Owen had fun sharing his toys with him.

Owen also enjoyed sharing his wagon to ride to the neighborhood pool.

In the Blink of an Eye… We are 9 Months Old!!!

We are on the move now… Owen is officially a crawler as of 2 days ago. He got around before then by moving and scooting around, but now he is on all 4's. The days of sitting him in the middle of the floor and running off to get something upstairs really quick are a distant memory now. Owen's favorite thing to play with is drawers and doors. When I put him on the floor in his room he makes a bee line for  his dresser and wants to open and close the drawers. He giggles when he does it. Who knew the dresser was such a great toy?

We are still settling into the new home. We still have unpacking to do, house projects and furniture to buy. We are just taking things slow and doing them right. I feel like it will be 2 years before we are finally settled.

Owen's Milestones
- You started crawling!!!! The first day I saw you really do it was July 6, 2015.
- You love to watch big kids play. We went to a 4th of July BBQ and you loved watching the big kids run around.
- You started eating solid food… we've had bananas cut up, Gerber puffs and a little bit of scrambled egg.
- You love to say "Ahhhh!" And you throw your arms down when you do it. If we do it you laugh and do it back. We can go back and forth forever doing it.
- I don't know how much you weigh or how tall you are, but we will find out at your 9 month doctor appointment on Friday. I will update this portion of the blog with the facts on Friday.
- Still only 2 teeth (on the bottom)
- You started eating purees out of the squeeze pouches which is nice because you can feed yourself while mommy makes dinner. You have had some store bought ones, but mommy  makes most of your pouches. The pouches are really great for eating out at restaurants because they are less messy than spoon feeding (and they keep you busy for a while). Here is a link to the kit to make pouches at home.
- You love to throw balls and watch where they go. You have a good arm, but your aim needs a little work.
- You can pull yourself up and sit up in the crib. You look so proud of yourself after you do it.

Now for some pictures from this month...
